Mangaluru: Talk as part of ‘Abhaya’ held at St Agnes PU College

Mangaluru, Jul 6: On Tuesday, June 4, St Agnes PU College organised a talk for the students as a part of ‘Abhaya’ by homoeopathist and student counsellor Dr Meena Lobo, she has been working as the student counsellor at the college since 2013.

Dr Lobo spoke to the students on the different fears adolescents have and techniques to combat them, she elaborated on the significance of self – awareness, self – esteem, and realisation of the fact that every individual is unique in his or her own way. She also stressed on the point that we must not try to imitate others and lose our originality. She advised the students to use the freedom granted to them in a responsible way. Dr Lobo also addressed the students on several issues teenagers face such as mood swings, depression, relationship issues among others and encouraged them to take up counselling whenever required and not consider it as a taboo to take counselling sessions.



Sr Norine, principal, Sr Janet, vice principal and the co-ordinator of the programme Dr Tressie Menezes were present on the dais. The programme was compered by Agnes Shibu and the vote of thanks was rendered by Samah Assia.
