Bengaluru: Model code violation - HC stays hearing against Parameshwar

Bengaluru, May 31: In a poll code violation case filed against deputy chief minister, G Parameshwar, pertaining to the bypoll conducted for Jamkhandi assembly constituency last year, the high court (HC) has issued interim stay, staying summons and hearing.

As a result, Parameshwar has got exemption from personally appearing for a hearing in the case that is before the special court for cases against people's representatives here on Friday May 31.

A single judge bench of the HC presided by Justice Ashok Aradhe, which heard the petition filed by Parameshwar, served notices to the defendants before posting the hearing to June 7.
