Mangaluru, May 25: Vikaas Pre-University College, here, was full of synergy and activity as new students came all geared up for their first day at the college. To break the anxiety with multiple charms, the college conducted an orientation programme for the freshers on May 25.
Dr C Rajesh Ballal, Professor in Surgery, KSHEMA, here, chief guest of the function, motivated the students to face the challenges ahead of their education and career. He asserted that hard work is the only formula and also the only shortcut to success.
The guest of honour Krishna Ramkumar, co-founder and CEO, Avanti Learning Centre, who touched a personal chord during his speech, said that inspiration is very important in one’s life and motivation should come within. He requested the parents to be role models for their children and also not to put pressure on them.
Toppers of the college, Prithvi and K Varsha in Science and Shresta H P and Sameeksha in Commerce in Second PU Board Examination were honoured by the dignitaries for their outstanding performance.
Krishna J Palemar, chairman, Vikaas Education Trust, who presided over the function, said that the institution provides good education with parental care. During adolescent stage, students might make various mistakes which might affect their life, but in Vikaas they are moulded to take the right path in life, he continued. He assured the students and parents that conducive environment, healthy food and knowledge are guaranteed in Vikaas.
Dr Ananth Prabhu G, advisor, Vikaas Education Trust, motivated and reinforced the students and explained the various competitive entrance examinations and opportunities and possibilities ahead of the course.
Prof T Rajaram Rao, academic director, Vikaas PU College, briefed the students on the coaching programme for competitive examinations and also explained the rules and regulations of the college hostel. Dr Suneel B M, principal, Vikaas PU College, briefed the students on the rules and regulations of the college.
J Koragappa, Suraj Kumar Kallya, trustees, Vikaas Education Trust, Parthasarathi Palemar, coordinator, Vikaas Group of Institutions and Dr Manjula Rao, dean, Vikaas Group of Institutions were also present on the occasion.
Ayshwarya K, principal, Vikaas First Grade College and coordinator, department of Commerce, Vikaas PU College welcomed the gathering. Shruthi S Bhandary, lecturer in Physics, proposed the vote of thanks. The programme was compered by Deepika Shetty, lecturer in Physics.
