Mangaluru: Four BE programmes of SJEC get re-accredited by NBA

Media Release

Mangaluru, May 8: St Joseph Engineering College, Mangaluru, is happy to announce the re-accreditation of four of its BE programmes by National Board of Accreditation (NBA), New Delhi, for a period of three years from July 2019 to June 2022. The NBA expert team had visited the college March 22 and rigorously assessed the four departments of Computer Science & Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering and Electronics & Communication Engineering. They have appreciated the Infrastructure, Management, Faculty, Student Contributions and Outcome-Based Education (OBE) practices adopted in the college. OBE is the quality assurance mechanism adopted for engineering programs by NBA when India became a signatory of the Washington Accord in June 2014.

The four programs were first accredited under OBE by NBA in November 2013 and thereafter were re-accredited in June 2016 for a period of three years. With the current achievement, these four programs join an elite class of programs which have continuous accreditation status under OBE for six years (2016 to 2022), in Karnataka. The college is committed to offer education of the highest quality to all its students and is actively working towards accreditation of all its programs in the near future.

The college is completing 17 years of its existence and currently has more than 2500 students on campus. It has become the destination of choice for engineering seat aspirants in the coastal region. Candidates are attracted to the good infrastructure, academic ambience, discipline on campus, excellent placements, competent faculty, and encouragement given to technical, cultural and sports activities.
