Kasargod, May 7: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has included the names of three persons including two from the district to the list of accused in a case pertaining to Islamic State (ISIS). Abubakkar Siddique and Ahmed Arafat from here, as well as Mohammed Fizal, resident of Karunagapalli in Kollam district, have been added afresh to the list of accused.
This fact came to light when the NIA filed supplementary report in the NIA special court located at Ernakulam. NIA plans to interrogate these three persons further. The report mentions that these three have been named in the case pertaining to hatching of a conspiracy with the connivance of ISIS terrorist, Abdul Rashid, who is currently in Syria.
NIA also wants to take Riaz Abubakkar from Palakkad, who is currently in judicial custody, into its custody for subjecting him to further questioning in the light of new findings.
During the earlier interrogation, Abubakkar had confessed that he had exchanged information with Jahran Hashim, main conspirator in recent serial bomb blasts in Sri Lanka, in the past. Therefore, NIA wants to find out whether Abubakkar had any role in the Sri Lanka bomb blasts and therefore plans to seek his custody.
