Mangaluru, Apr 28: The valedictory of the two-day residential programme 'Utkarsh' organised by the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI), Southern India Regional Council and Mangaluru chapter was held at Hotel Taj Gateway on Saturday, April 27.
Addressing the gathering, president of ICSI Mangaluru chapter Chethan Nayak said, "More than 150 people consisting of students, chartered accountants, company secretaries, lawyers, law students participated in this programme. Speakers from Chennai, Pune, Bengaluru spoke on relevant topics and this has turned out to be a successful event. There has been a positive response and we have been receiving good feedback.
"In the month of May and June we are planning to organise a programme for the benefit of students, industries and companies," he added.
On April 26, sessions were held on the topics 'Changing landscape of financial reporting and governance' and 'Study on goods and service tax compliance'. An interaction was held with Central Council members.
On April 27, sessions were held on 'Opportunities for professionals in FEMA' and 'NCLT appearance - scope for professionals, compounding of offences and adjudication of penalties and amendments in companies act 2013'.
Chethan Nayak proposed vote of thanks and Swathi Baliga compered the event.
Central Council member Nagendra Rao, Secretary Southern India Regional Council Balasubramanium and others were present.
