Bengaluru, Apr 27: As per a complaint received at Ashoknagar police station in city, a taxi driver received a phone call from an international number, asking him to plant a bomb in a church.
The Ashoknagar police stumbled on the case following the Sri Lankan blasts.
Lingaraju (25), a taxi driver from Ashoknagar, filed a police complaint, saying he received the calls at 11.37 am on Thursday when he was near Garuda Mall.
As per the complaint, the calls came from 9632308252, +651-3762512 and 9384986184. The caller hung up immediately. After 11.45 am, Lingaraju received one more call from +81590091286.
Speaking in Hindi, the caller asked Lingaraju to send his bank account details to transfer money and to tell him which church he would bomb. A panicked Lingaraju disconnected the call.
Police said Lingaraju could not understand the caller clearly as he spoke a mixture of Hindi and Urdu in a strange dialect.
The police are investigating the case. .
