Dubai: Burj Khalifa lights up with Sri Lanka's colours in solidarity

Dubai, Apr 25: In solidarity with the victims of the serial bomb blasts in Sri Lanka on Easter Sunday, world-renowned skycraper Burj Khalifa on Thursday April 25 lit up with the colours of Sri Lanka's flag.

Sharing the image of the sky-scraper all lit up, the Burj Khalifa's official Twitter handle conveyed a message of tolerance and co-existence.

"#BurjKhalifa lights up in solidarity with #SriLanka. Here’s to a world built on tolerance and coexistence," the tweet said.



Khaleej Times reported that apart from the Burj Khalifa, iconic landmarks in Abu Dhabi such as the The Emirates Palace, Sheikh Zayed Bridge, ADNOC building, Capital Gate also lit up with the colours of Sri Lanka's national flag.

Serial blasts in Sri Lanka's churches and luxury hotels have claimed over 350 lives so far. ISIS has taken responsibility for the attack and the police have aready arrested several in connection to the blasts.

    it is the responsibility of every country institutions and people to show solidarity when such things happen. There should be a solidarity show all over the world by all to oppose terrorism to show that the whole world hates terrorism.

    Dear Prashant,
    There's structural difference in our country' s constitution and theirs for U.A.E is a Kingdom, whereas India is people' s democratic republic.
    As law abiding and civilized citizens, we all bound to abide by the constitution.
    However, in our constitution, as per democratic principles, constructive criticism is allowed and encouraged, NOT ONLY NOW IN THE PAST ALSO. Not only in our country but all democracies.
    Criticism shouldn't be misunderstood to criminal defamation or activity.
    But not in Kingdoms and dictatorial countries. Criticism not allowed.

    Dear Valerian, i am fully agree with your elaboration of both country's federal systems ....
    My concern is only with people, who show unfairly prejudice against our current PM ....
    Associating him for every petty things happening around in the country .... This is biased ....
    Why would all the corrupt got united against a single man, not to save the constitution .... but to save their dynasty, to save their political party, to be in power, no body is concerned about the people of the country ....
    Until Jio Mobile came, all the cellular company's looting us, now everybody giving free data, free call all over India, why didn't they give us till now ....
    Same as all the political party's announcing freebies to poor and farmers, why didn't they think about it before Modi .... How come all of sudden becoming ShivBhakt and Janoidhari Brahmin ....

    In this universe difference and disagreements would be there which no one can eliminate. Not only in politics but even in games, we have to adjust to live with that.
    Therefore we have a constitution, a level playing field to manage the affairs of the country.

    Sir, In all religions there are black sheep.
    In NewZealand Christchurch attack Afghan refugee old man welcomed the lone gunman with greeting Hello brother!
    That is his first and last words. He has died for someone else cost. Similarly, Sri Lanka worshipers have died for no reason.

    But in India, Malegaon blast accuse is contesting elections has blood in hands. That's is more alarming to this nation. More dangerous is that support she is getting saying UPA has wrongly accused her of terrorism to justice her candidacy.

    Sir, No one will marry his/her daughter to a person having bad character record. Why the citizens of India think Democracy in such peoples hands will not ruin the house?

    The BJP and PM Modiji has to learn something from New Zeland and UAE leadership instead of asking voters in the name of Sri Lanka and Pulwama attack.

    These people cannot be Muslims if they don't understand the true meaning of Allah the Almighty in taught in the Quran Muslim holy book.

    We need to stand together to defeat this terrorism unitedly and the same voice oppose democracy is being infiltrated by the terrorist.

    This is one more gesture of National recognition for the tragic calamity that Sri Lanka has gone thru on the Easter Sunday tragedy that took away more than 320 lives plus hundreds more injured. Thousands of Sri Lankans have been shaken up as a result of this mysterious tragedy.

    Thank you, Dubai, for your thoughtful message of condolences. The people of Sri Lanka will never forget this kind and thoughtful gesture on your part. Thousands of Sri Lankans must be giving their untiring service to the daily life of Dubai, and this is one way to appreciate your kind recognition of the painful tragedy we are going thru for no reason whatsoever.
