Bantwal, Apr 25: A youth died in a road mishap that occurred at Muloor near Ira under the limits of Mudipu near here when a tipper truck collided with a two-wheeler on the evening on Thursday, April 25.
The deceased is identified as Mohammed Sinan (20), son of Adram Byari, a resident of Kayyur under Manchi village. Zahir, who was riding pillion, suffered serious injuries and is admitted to Yenepoya Hospital, Deralakatte.
It learnt that Sinan was working as a daily wage labourer and going to Ira from Thokkottu along with his friend Zahir. The tipper truck which hit the two-wheeler near Muloor dragged the bike for a few meters. Both the rider and pillion were thrown on to the road due to the impact of the heavy vehicle and got seriously injured.
The accident caused a traffic block on Muloor-Ira road. Locals cleared the road and rushed both Sinan and Zahir to the hospital. However, Sinan succumbed to his injuries a little while later. Zahir is still undegoing treatment. The two-wheeler was completely smashed in the mishap.
Sinan was an active member of SSF, Manchi unit. A case in this regard is registered in the Bantwal traffic police station.
