Mangaluru, Apr 24: First Steps Pre-School, Kudroli recently celebrated its Convocation Day to applaud the young enthusiastic learners of the pre-school for their commendable performance in the 2018-19 term.

Convocation day is an exciting time that has both an ending and a beginning. It carries warm memories of the past and big dreams for the future.

Certain ceremonies are celebrated with a difference and one such ceremony was held at the preschool where the tiny tots complete their tenure and prepare to step into a completely new world of school.

The occasion was graced by distinguished toastmaster (DTM) Shameer Ahmed.

In his convocation address, he complimented the graduates on their achievements. He also congratulated the teachers for their dedication and hard work in shaping the students through education and other co-curricular activities. Sharing a few tips with the teachers in training and bringing up the children he said, "We need to teach children basic manners and teach them how to respect their elders, teachers and parents. We also need to train and bring them up in all aspects – socially, emotionally, intellectually and spiritually."

He further stressed on the importance of being patient and receptive to the children.

"The most important part of the day was felicitation of young graduates wherein the delighted tiny tots of the pre-School dressed in graduation robes and capes. They were felicitated with certificates of graduation and scrolls of merit by the guest.

It was indeed a joyous and memorable day for the little ones and their parents.

The guest asked the children what they learned during the term and there was a quick and amazing response by the pre-school kids. The kids also sang the different rhymes enthusiastically which added more colour to the event.

The programme culminated with the vote of thanks by the head teacher Himna S Ahmed.

The head teacher, teacher Azeema, Sufiyan, Shehzan S Ahmed, Hasan Riza decorated the classroom and arranged the event in a professional manner, which added feathers to the event.
