Mangaluru, Apr 15: Union minister for Commerce, Industry and Civil Aviation Suresh Prabhu has expressed confidence that Narendra Modi will be re-elected as the Prime Minister of India for the second term.
Addressing media here on Monday, April 15, Suresh Prabhu said, "Entire country is geared up for Lok Sabha elections and are confident that Modi will be the Prime Minister for the second term. We are campaigning with the theme of what next for India? In the last five years our country has progressed under the leadership of Modi, who has been the driving force for the country’s development and we are going to capitalize all the gains.”
He also said, "Under the leadership of Modi there has been immense development in the field of social sector, health sectors, upliftment of youth, and welfare of women by introducing several programmes for them. During the first budget nearly Rs 8,54,000 crore were allotted for the railways and Karnataka has received lot of funds for railways in the five years, compared to last 70 years.”
Speaking on his party’s vision for India’s aviation sector, he said, "We are upgrading airports and also constructing 25-30 airports. We are planning to add 100 more airports in the next 12 years taking number of airports to 200 in the entire country and also focusing on enhancing the road connectivity.”
He further said," Modi has received highest civilian award across the globe, social harmony is the hallmark of his government. Even we have recorded high number of export, with 330 billion dollar merchandise export and 210 billion dollar service export. The agricultural export policy will be introduced for which Karnataka state will be benefitted by this scheme,” he added.
"People have decided to vote for Modi and his representative for Dakshina Kannada Nalin Kumar Kateel. Kateel has done lot of development work and brought in several funds and programmes to his constituency. We seek votes for the development works that he has done,” concluded Suresh Prabhu.
