Mangaluru, Apr 15: Lourdes Central School (LCS) faculty had the privilege of getting connected to CASK a century and a few more years’ old Catholic Association of South Kanara (CASK) through their Teacher Enrichment Programme ‘Me Time’.
When teachers were busy with their mundane life, the principal of the LCS Institution Fr Robert D’Souza introduced the CASK members to boost their spirit through a two-day seminar.
The seminar commenced by lighting the diya by the heads of the institute, followed by the CASK president Nayana, co-ordinator, Patsy Lobo, former president Dr Derrik Lobo, the faculty convenor Noeleen Pais and the chief guest Farita Veigas, principal of St Aloysius Institute. The power packed talks were delivered by innumerable resource persons who were invited by the CASK family.

Farita Veigas spoke on the necessity of soft skills.
Manoj Fernandes enlightened the teachers’ minds by reinventing the teaching profession.
Archibald Menezes requested the teachers to inculcate the habit of personal financial banking in teachers.
Vidya Shenoy and Bharathi Shevgoor spoke on public speaking communication.
Teachers were proud to watch their own student Sharlaine Sequeira, who as a fitness trainer trained the teacher how to inhale and exhale in the right manner and how to reduce belly fat with simple Bollywood songs.
Dr Malini Hebbar delivered her interesting talk on finer nuances of the English language by training to speak the universal language with clarity and correctness.
The powerful speech by Dr Derrick Lobo on the goals of Education and the bio-diversity of the Western Ghats and the adverse effect of plastic on flora and fauna by Dr Anand and Geeta Pereira were well appreciated. The staffs of LCS were given a royal treatment by refreshing their spirit and tummy with sumptuous eats and cool drinks.
In the valedictory ceremony every teacher was honoured with a trophy and certificate. As teachers expressed their gratitude to the principal, vice principal and the CASK Family, they will never fail to forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them.
