Uppinangady, Apr 15: Team Chakravarty Karuvelu and Blood Helpline Karnataka held blood donation camp in the cooperation of Kanachur medical college hospital, Natekal on the eve of Ambedkar Jayanti at Dakshina Kannada upgraded higher primary school, Karuvelu on Sunday, April 14.
The camp was chaired by Team Chakravarthy Karuvelu founder Janab Ashraf and began after prayer song by eighth standard students of the school. Uppinangady elementary school physical education teacher Vandana Karuvelu who inaugurated the camp said that blood donation is noble. “Scientific production of blood was not possible so far and will not be possible. Therefore, donating our valuable blood to others is great work,” she said congratulating the camp organizers. She inspired others after she became the first blood donor in the camp.
Chief guest Karuvelu Juma Masjid Khatib Bahu Shukur Darimi said that there is no difference in between blood of people belonging to different religions. “Everybody’s blood is red. The camp held in the name of late Dr Ambedkar who pronounced unity in diversity is an excellent development,” he said.
34 people donated blood. Kanachur medical college hospital blood bank medical officials and staff helped in collecting blood.
Rameez M S welcomed. Ashraf Arabi compered the programme. The organizers have thanked those who donated blood in the camp, hospital staff, workers, media representatives and those who cooperated directly and indirectly to make the camp a success.
