Mangaluru, Apr 4: "The building which houses the Congress election office at Bendoorwell does not have completion certificate," alleged Mangaluru South MLA Vedavyas Kamath.
Addressing a press meet here on Thursday April 4, Vedavyas Kamath said, "The building in which the Congress election office exists belongs to a bar and wine shop owner. This shows Congress culture. The building is owned by Joachim Louis Pinto from Bendoorwell who owns a wine shop and bar. What kind of message is Congress trying to convey to the people by opening its election office in such a building?
"The building does not have completion certificate and it is still under construction. Its illegal to conduct activities in a building which is not completed. It is the culture of Congress to do illegal activities," Kamath said.
"Congress leaders are frequently blaming MP Nalin Kumar Kateel for various issues, but they should know about their own leaders before commenting. I am not comparing Prime Minister Modi and Congress president Rahul Gandhi, but I am comparing Rahul Gandhi with Nalin Kumar Kateel because Nalin Kumar has bought Rs 16,500 crore to the district while Rahul Gandhi has bought only Rs 350 crore to his Amethi constituency," he added.
"The Congress has complained to the Election Commission about pasting 'Main Bhi Chowkidar' stickers on vehicles and the election officials are is making everyone remove the stickers. 'Main Bhi Chowkidar' sticker does not carry the image of any party symbol or leader, so why should it be removed? The EC has no right to remove the stickers," Kamath said.
When asked about the removal of 'Chowkidar Chor Hai' stickers from vehicles in Udupi, the MLA said, "It has the word 'chor', which is a derogatory comment on actual chowkidars (security guards)."
