Mangaluru, Apr 1: The PG department of Journalism and Mass Communication (MAJMC) of St Aloysius College (Autonomous), conducted a face painting competition on March 30 from 2 pm to 5 pm. The event was conducted in collaboration with Chaithanya (NGO) at St Aloysius College. The theme of the competition was “war and humanity”. Thechief guest for the program was Dr Muraleedhar Naik, founder director of Chaithanya and retired professor of Mangalore University. The event was conducted as a tribute to the soldiers who lost their life in Pulwama attack.

The face painting competition witnessed the participation of twenty teams from different collages. The first prize for the program was banged by students from St Aloysius College while second prize was taken by AIMIT students.

Dr Muraleedhar Naik addressed the audience, he said, “India had seen two great wars in Mahabartaha and Ramyana. These two wars were leas by the rulers itself and had ethics. India had grown as a great nuclear power after many countries like China, US and Russia. These can cause serious harm because earth will not survive one more war.”

The prize was distributed by the chief guest and the judge for the competition was Tia Boban, assistant professor. Indu Paul and Sethulekshmi MS, student coordinators were present for the programme.
