Mangaluru, Apr 1: With the commencement of new financial year today, all the five toll plazas in the twin-districts will begin charging revised charges.
The two plazas ar Brahmarakootlu and Suratkal fall under National Highways Authority of India while the ones at Talapady, Gundmi and Hejamady come under Navayuga Company.
In Suratkal, one-way charges for light vehicles have been retained at Rs 50 whereas two-way fee has gone up from Rs 75 to 80. Monthly pass cost for such vehicles has been hiked to Rs 1,740 from 1,670. For commercial vehicles registered in the district, charges have remained at Rs 25 whereas one-way charges for light commercial vehicle, mini buses etc have gone up to Rs 85 from previous 80. For buses one-way charges would be Rs 175 as compared to previous 170. Non-commercial vehicles operating within 20 km radius from the plazas concerned will have to buy monthly passes costing R 265 (previous 255) from today in all the toll plazas.
Similar hike has also been implemented in other toll plazas from Monday.
