The Govt is making tremendous mistake to please established /loyal lobby's around the IXE AIRPORT by investing in a non feasible Dangerous Airport, Whatever the Govt does but the location of IXE Airport is an challenge to meet the Civil Aviation standards and in long run Mangalore is the Looser all surrounding states will overtake IXE Airport. The Best Ideal solution is use IXE present Airport as a Defense Airport or Cargo Airport and Built a state of Art Greenfield Airport near PADUBIDRI as proposed before.

Good to know this. International baggage arrival belt area is too congested. Need bigger space. Also more departure security screening machines. We always end up waiting for long time to clear security due to this..

When are they going to make 4 lanes from Airport to Mangalore and Udupi?? If they make a good road from Bajpe to Surathkal or Mulky and to Karkala or Moodubidri would be a great help! A direct road provision to arrival and departure without having to take awkward U turn is need of the hour! Hope we get good site planners to our airports!
we are badly lacking good vegetarian restaurants and caffes's at reasonable price at airport....both inside and outside!!

I m a regular traveler of IXE, Never faced any shortage of space or never found any que unless there is delay in flight schedule. What we are looking is "RUNWAY EXPANSION". We need different flights to land like Emirates, Etihad. We are only depending on Spice and Air India to travel IXE. and I have seen their services are poor than of any Luxury bus services. Cabin Crews are so under trained and Rude. Please understand our suffering and do what is needful first.

You have made a factual error ,No. of flights haven't reduced because of kannur airport . It has reduced because Jet Airways have cut down many flights as they are facing some issues!

so many flights are cancelled.. to dubai and rest of the gulf after Kannur airport opened, Mumbai , Bangalore and passengers are paying through their nose for travel. Why expand ? air fares to and from Mangalore domestically are higher than international travel. Hope the situation improves.
