Mangaluru, Jan 17: It is learnt that the police, during their probe, have found that Mumbai underworld elements having connection with Pakistan had contracted Tasleem for the killing of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh leader, Kalladka Dr Prabhakar Bhat and other Hindu leaders from coastal Karnataka. Sources claim that during his questioning, Muhataseem alias Tasleem (41) from Chembarika Kasargod, who was arrested for plotting murders of Hindu leaders, gave this information.

Delhi police have got confirmation that Tasleem has contacts with the Mumbai underworld. Delhi police were informed about the plot by the officials of the central intelligence. On the basis of this information, the police who verified telephone numbers came to know about the conspiracy to eliminate some Hindu leaders.

It is said that Delhi police had arrested Muhataseem with help from Kerala police when he had come to Kasargod from Mumbai on January 9 itself. During his interrogation, Tasleem reportedly confessed that he has links with underworld operators at Mumbai.

After reports about the arrest of the accused appeared, his photos in the company of BJP leaders have surfaced and some of them have become viral on certain social websites. However, the local leaders said that Muhataseem had been expelled from the party three years back for anti-party activities and that the party has nothing to do with him since then.
