Mangaluru Dec 19: BJP staged protest at DC office in Mangaluru on Wednesday, December 19, against Congress for misleading people and imposing false allegations over BJP on Rafale deal.
Addressing the protestors, BJP leader Yogish Bhat said," Congress has been misguiding and misleading the people of the country purely on the basis of inaccurate, illogical and baseless allegations. Four petitions were filed before the Supreme Court last week. Three issues of decision making, price and offset partners were particularly raised in these petitions. On 14th December, the Supreme Court of India gave its decision on theses petitions and found that the overall process in the Rafale agreement is transparent and as per the rules. The court also gave a message with this decision that the matters related to national security should not be bought to the court just on the basis of unfounded doubts and misleading news items.”
He also said," The court head set aside all these petitions and clearly stated that there is no scope or any solid basis to doubt this agreement. On the basis of facts, the court also found that the air force of the country needs such aircrafts and set standards and procedures were followed in completing this purchase process, for the need of the security of the country.”
District BJP general secretary Ravi Shankar Mijar said," In 2001 the subject of buying some fighter planes was brought in to the notice of then Congress led UPA government. They kept this matter hanging during their term. When the BJP led NDA government was formed in the centre under the leadership of Modi, this matter was moved in to a positive direction, and the process was transparent. It is unfortunate that the Congress party had kept dilly dallying this important need of the armed forces of the country and today is the misleading people on the basis of inaccurate facts.”
He further said, “Congress has been using this issue only for the sake of their narrow political benefits and also maligning the image of our country at International level.”
