Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, Dec 18: As per information, assistant commissioner of police (ACP), Venkatesh Prasanna, who was the investigating officer in Ambidant scandal, has drawn the attention of director general and inspector general of police (DG-IGP) of the state, Neelamani Raju, towards politicians-policemen nexus with this scandal. He is said to have raised the issue of money having been accepted by current and former ministers, senior police officers, and officials of some other investigating agencies from Fareed, managing director of Ambidant Company.

The letter written on November 28 by the ACP has now become public knowledge. Venkatesh Prasanna,  in his capacity as investigating officer of the case, had arrested former minister, Janardhan Reddy, in the case. Later, he had taken steps to arrest Vijay Thatha, but shortly thereafter he was divested of the case and another investigating officer was appointed. Thereafter, Prasanna met the DG-IGP and handed over a long letter explaining the developments behind this case.

"When I was the investigating officer, Fareed told me how he had been blackmailed by Vijay Thatha, which I have recorded on video. I am also aware that various former and current ministers, MLAs,  senior and junior police officers and a few retired police officers have received money in this case. I was relieved of the case at the advice of a cheat," he stated.

He also had enclosed audio recording of Vijay Thatha, who earlier had claimed to have paid money to Prasanna, revealing to someone else that Prasanna had never demanded money. After getting the letter, the DG-IGP is said to have summoned Prasanna and questioned him for long.

In the meanwhile, the high court issued interim stay against a case relating to obstruction of duty to government employees registered against builder, Vijay Thatha, involved with Ambidant case. In this case, registered in Vidhana Soudha police station, Vijay Thatha, Zayed and others were named. Thatha has charged with holding press meet and issuing false statements against the police.

Prasanna himself was recommended for suspension by the Lokayukta after having been caught red handed driving a stolen luxury car. He has also been accused of extortion, blackmail and running an encounter racket. It was bigwigs then who shielded him. So much for honesty

Corruption giving and taking is in blood of most of the people. It will not go easily.

Political party and officials are also made of people in this category.

So only blaming political party or officials will not serve the purpose.

When people change themselves everything will change.

This country is not for upright and honest civil servants. People with conscience should not enter the police force. I feel so sorry and helpless that so many good and sincere policemen are at the beck and call of rowdy and unscrupulous politicians.

    Jossey sir,

till janardhan reddy arrest everything was fine. but when this ACP Prasanna gathered the more information of other politicians (as stated in the article, current ministers,MLA), he has been transferred. that means your party don't want to punish the criminals right? out of 500+ crores case why the CCB only interested in 20 crores? why they are silent now? every one want to take shelter by using Reddy name. but there are more dangerous corrupt politicians are there.
