The letter written on November 28 by the ACP has now become public knowledge. Venkatesh Prasanna, in his capacity as investigating officer of the case, had arrested former minister, Janardhan Reddy, in the case. Later, he had taken steps to arrest Vijay Thatha, but shortly thereafter he was divested of the case and another investigating officer was appointed. Thereafter, Prasanna met the DG-IGP and handed over a long letter explaining the developments behind this case.
"When I was the investigating officer, Fareed told me how he had been blackmailed by Vijay Thatha, which I have recorded on video. I am also aware that various former and current ministers, MLAs, senior and junior police officers and a few retired police officers have received money in this case. I was relieved of the case at the advice of a cheat," he stated.
He also had enclosed audio recording of Vijay Thatha, who earlier had claimed to have paid money to Prasanna, revealing to someone else that Prasanna had never demanded money. After getting the letter, the DG-IGP is said to have summoned Prasanna and questioned him for long.
In the meanwhile, the high court issued interim stay against a case relating to obstruction of duty to government employees registered against builder, Vijay Thatha, involved with Ambidant case. In this case, registered in Vidhana Soudha police station, Vijay Thatha, Zayed and others were named. Thatha has charged with holding press meet and issuing false statements against the police.
