Mangaluru, Dec 17: With elections coming up, ‘Team Modi’, which was earlier known as ‘Namo Brigade’, with an aim to see Narendra Modi becoming the prime minister again, took out a rally on Sunday, December 16.
Youths came together and took out a rally from Hampanakatta to State Bank with a theme 'Deshakaagi Modi, Modigaagi Naavu'. The rally was flagged off by power lifter Pradeep Kumar by handing over national flag to ‘Team Modi’ representative Bhaskar.
‘Team Modi’ rally will be held at 350 venues across the state. Youngsters have come forward to support Modi and carry out 'Team Modi' rally to make Modi the Prime Minister for the second term, informed organizers.
Addressing the gathering, Pradeep Kumar said, "I have represented the country and won five medals and travelled to seven countries. We are recognized by our Prime Minister Narendra Modi as he has brought a lot of changes in our country,”
"To represent a country on international level, I had financial problems. Even though I was eligible, I did not receive cash prize from the state government since three years. I received recognition and started my own business through Mudra scheme and that helped me to reach to a good position,” he added.
‘Team Modi’ representative Sripathi Acharya said, "Six years ago, we started ‘Namo Brigade’ to make Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of the country. We started with a small group and were successful in our attempt. We had decided that when Modi takes the oath as PM, ‘Namo Brigade’ will be dissolved, which we did. Now as the election is round the corner, we now formed 'Team Modi' replacing ‘Namo Brigade’ to strengthen Narendra Modi and to make him the Prime Minister for the second term,”
"When Modi visited Mangaluru, many gathered to see him. This is the time to repeat it again. We can expect a lot from Modi as he bought several changes in our country during his tenure so far,” added Sripathi Acharya.
