Kasargod, Dec 14: Ten members of two families, natives of Kannur district of Kerala state have gone missing. As per the information given by the police these people have left India to join the extremist organization of ISIS.

The missing people who have joined the extremists are identified as K Sajjad and Shahina couple, residents of Poothappara, Azhikode in Kannur along with their two children, Anwar and Afzila couple, residents of Poothappara and their three children and T P Nizam of Kuruva.

The relatives of the said people have complained to the police as these people did not return home after November 20, the day on which they left home saying that they are going to Mysuru.

As per police investigation, all the missing people have reached United Arab Emirates (UAE) and from there too they are missing. As the ISIS base is completely destroyed in Syria, the police are suspecting that these people must have reached some center in Afghanistan. K Sadanandan, DySP of Kannur is undertaking the investigation of this issue.

Police have informed that some of their relatives have already left earlier to join ISIS. Afzila, wife of Anwar, who is in the missing team is the sister of Fauziya, wife of Shameer, who died in Syria. There is also information that Salman and Safwan, children of Shameer have died in the battlefield of ISIS. Police suspect that, after Anwar - Afzila couple received the news of the death of Faziya and children, they must have decided to join ISIS along with their family.
