Bengaluru, Dec 9: The Kanara Catholic Association (KCA) Christmas Extravaganza ‘Mistletoe 2018’ went on with much excitement as two eminent personalities Dr Henry D’Souza, bishop of Bellary and Faye D’Souza, executive editor, Mirror Now, graced the occasion with their presence and sending out a strong message to the community to be responsible to make their own choices for a better tomorrow.
With a packed crowd of over 2,000 people, the event commenced with Santa Claus dancing with all the children and gifting them presents to bring in the Christmas season. Shortly after, a cultural programme featuring carols such as ‘It’s a wonderful time of the year’, ‘Breath of Heaven’, ‘Man from Galilee’, ‘This is Christmas’ and more was held. There were also dances such as the Hawaiian dance, a ballet and a tableau for the evening concluding with a Christmas Rock and Roll.
Bouquets were presented to the special guests followed by KCA president Marjorie Texeira raising a toast in honour of their contribution and dedicated efforts to the community. Shortly after, Bishop Henry D’Souza presented the ‘Face of the Year’ Award to Faye D’Souza along with Rafael Johnson, Hilma Roach and Marjorie Texeira.
The evening moved into spot competitions where children, families and all had the opportunity to participate and win prizes all based on the Christmas theme of the evening.
The Christmas extravaganza by KCA was an evening of fun, dance, entertainment with over 100 members of the KCA working together over one month’s duration to put the show into action. The show then moved on to music by Raagas to Riches, a band from Goa where the packed crowd could dance the night away.
