Kundapur, Dec 6: The additional district and sessions court here has found that the charges levelled against two persons in respect of a case of setting shop and cars on fire have been proved. In this particular incident, a shop and some vehicles were torched at Gangolli near here three years back.
The court said that it would pronounce the quantum of sentence on December 10.
Muhammed Junaid and Welding Jaffer from Gangolli have been found guilty in this case. They were charged with setting fire to a shop, Venkateshwara Stores, and a godown attached to it, which were owned by Venkatesh Shenoy on Gangolli main road on January 21, 2015. They also had torched cars parked in front of the house, before fleeing.

A police team led by the then Byndoor police circle inspector, Sudarshan, conducted probe and arrested the accused. They were charged with offences under sections 451, 436 and 427 of Indian Penal Code in a case registered in Gangoli station, and charge sheet was filed in the court.
Judge of the additional district and sessions court here, Prakash Khanderi, who conducted hearing, concluded that the charges levelled against the two accused have been proved. He announced that the quantum of sentence would be made known on December 10.
District public prosecutor, Prakashchandra Shetty Belur had argued the case on behalf of the prosecution.
