Bengaluru, Dec 3: Sri Vishweshateertha Swamiji, head of Pejawar Math Udupi and senior-most among the eight Swamijis there, declared here on Sunday December 2 that he would be leading a delegation to Prime Minister (PM), Narendra Modi, in an effort to prevail upon Modi to issue an ordinance to remove all legal hurdles and pave way for the construction of Sri Ram temple at Ayodhya.
The programme was held under the aegis of Vishwa Hindu Parishad at the National College grounds here.
He was speaking after taking part in 'Janagraha' rally organized here on Sunday December 2 to mount pressure on the central government to build the temple soon. "I fail to understand why the government has not so far legally moved to clear all obstacles. We will personally discuss all the issues with the PM," he stated.
Milind Parande, national general secretary of Vishwa Hindu Parishad, speaking at the programme, said that Hindus have waited for too long for a solution to emerge on this issue, and that they are becoming impatient now on the issue of their dream of building Ram temple at Ayodhya. "The land dispute case is in the court, and the case is getting adjourned repeatedly. Hindus cannot be expected to wait for unduly long period of time. The wishes of the majority community should be respected, and an ordinance should be promulgated to allow this temple to come up at Ayodhya," he urged.
People from the city and neighbouring districts of Mandya, Hassan, Kolar and Mysuru participated in the programme in large numbers.
Before the rally, Vishwa Hindu Parishad activists took out processions from different parts of the city to the venue of the meeting. A 17-feet high statue of Lord Rama was carried with the procession which went from J C Nagar to National College grounds.
