Udupi, Dec 1: Rajanikanth Rai (48), a Mumbai-based hotelier, lost his life in an accident which happened at Jogeshwari, Mumbai in the early hours of Friday November 30.
Rajanikanth was a native of Adve Tenkumane in Nandikoor near Padubidri. It is said that he had got down from a train at Jogedshwari railway station and was walking away when he was knocked down by another train. He died on the spot. This information was given by his relative, Adve Aranthade Laxman Shetty.
The deceased has running the hotel since the last 24 years. He is survived by mother, wife, and a daughter. Rai was actively involved with religious, academic and social service sectors. He had functioned as office bearer of Nandikoor School Old Students Association and also of the Mumbai committee of Nandikoor school.
