Madikeri, Nov 9: Coming down heavily on the coalition government celebrating Tipu Jayanti, MLA K G Bopaiah lashed out that the curse of ‘mother Kaveri’ will not spare chief minister H D Kumaraswamy.
Opposing Tipu Jayanti celebrations in the city on Friday, he questioned whether the celebrations are held only in Madikeri.
Speaking at a programme he said, “CM Kumaraswamy's name is not mentioned in the celebrations in Bengaluru. Why circulars and sections that are not issued elsewhere are found here? Are you trying to divide and rule without going to the programme? People in the land have become clever. They see through everything,” he lashed out.
“The time has not passed yet. Give up Tipu Jayanti. Do not celebrate it in this holy place. If you celebrate it, the curse of Kaveri mother will be on you like it was on Siddaramaiah,” he said in anguish.
“We will participate in protests on Saturday. We will not be afraid if cases are registered against us. You may sentence us to gallows or imprison us till death. You may slap cases on us and arrest us. See if you will be present after we come out,” he slammed.
