Bantwal, Oct 29: In an incident which happened at Kallaje near Kadeshwalya in the taluk, a boy was attacked after he opposed the attempt by the gang to use him for satisfying their sexual desires. Although the incident happened on Saturday October 27, it came into the open with delay.
The victim in question is 11-year-od and resident of Kallaje. Injured boy stands admitted into the government hospital here for treatment of injuries. He is a student of a private educational institution near Budoli. A case in this connection has been registered in the rural police station here. Investigation has been undertaken.
It is said that the boy had visited a shop near his home on Saturday evening. A gang with members like Rajesh, Umesh and others, whom the boy know well, called him towards them. They made him sit inside a nearby auto rickshaw after which they groped his body by inserting their hands into his clothes. When he resisted, they pulled at his ears, and hit his hands, head, temple, and legs, he said. He also claimed that the gang got him seated in the same auto rickshaw and dropped him near his home.
The boy's mother says that this incident had shaken her son, and there is marked change in his behaviour, having been physically and mentally drained. She also said that the boy was afraid to speak up.
Police sub-inspector of rural station here. Prasanna, visited the hospital on the night of Sunday and collected information. A case stands registered and investigation has been udnertaken.
