Bengaluru, Sep 26: The sessions court here, through a judgement delivered on Tuesday September 25, awarded 20 years imprisonment to Anwar Munna (40), who had raped his eight-year-old daughter. He also has been fined Rs 5,000.
Anwar was working as a painter. He used to stay with his wife and children at Kengeri. His wife supported the family by working as a domestic help.
On February 13, 2017, Munna raped his eight-year-old daughter when his wife was away. He also had forced his daughter to take oath by placing her hand on Holy Quran against revealing this incident to her mother, duly warning her that her mother would die if she informed this incident to her.
But the girl had narrated about her father's misdeed as soon as her mother came back home. Shocked at this, her mother had filed complaint in Kengeri police station. The court which conducted the trial, found that the charge has been proved. Judge of the court, Sharada, awarded 20 years rigorous imprisonment in the case besides imposing a fine of Rs 5,000 on the guilty.
