Mangalore, Oct 27: Diwali was celebrated with the elderly on Monday October 27 at 10.30 am at Vishwas Trust.
The programme began with a prayer song, followed by lighting the lamp by chief guest Dr Suphala Kotian of community medicine department, KMC Attavar, followed by Dr Olinda Pereira, director, Vishwas Trust, Lavina Rego, social worker, Ratna Pinto, trustee, MSW student Sendil Kumar and Day Centre member Sanjeeva Shetty.
Jayshree Patil, an MSW student welcomed the gathering by traditional arati. MSW student Niveditha who was the compere spoke briefly about Diwali. Chief guest Dr Suphala Kotian delivered Diwali message. H N Narasimha, yoga master spoke on the significance of Diwali.
Cultural programme was followed by diya dance, skit, singing, spot games. A large number of Elderly were present on the occasion. Sweets, snacks were served to all.
Lavina Rego proposed the vote of thanks.
