Mangalore, Oct 26: The International Society of Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) will organize a ‘Go Puja’, and ‘Govardhana Puja’, at T V Raman Pai Hall in the city on Wednesday October 29.
Speaking at a press meet, Swami Sanatanadas of the Akshaya Patra Foundation, informed that Krishna J Palemar, the district-in-charge minister, will be the chief guest while deputy commissioner (DC) M Maheshwar Rao and P Dayanand Pai, managing director, Century Group, will be the guests of honour.
The day’s programme will begin with a ‘Tulsi Puja’ at 6 pm followed by the ‘Sandhya Aarti’ at 6.10 pm, ‘Go Puja’ at 6.30 pm and ‘Govardhana Puja’ at 6.50 pm, a video show at 7.45 pm , ‘Damodar Aarti’ at 8.15 pm, and concludes with dinner ‘prasadam’ at 8.45 pm.
The Govardhana Puja is performed to worship the environment and the Damodar Aarti will be performed to signify Krishna’s childhood, he added. Swami Sanatanadas also said that a replica of mount Govardhana will be created at the ISKCON temple on the occasion and an idol of Lord Krishna will be made from different eatables. Swami Pankajangiridas and Swami Nandanacharyadas were present at the press meet.
