Udupi, Sep 5: The 'Aradhana Mahotsava' meant to pay tributes to and worship Shiroor Sri Laxmivarateertha Swamiji, who is no more, is being held simultaneously at the basic Shiroor Math near Hiriadka and Sri Krishna Math here on Tuesday September 5.

This programme is being held under the aegis of Sri Krishna Math, Paryaya Palimaru Math, Shiroor Math and its 'Dwandwa' Math, Sode Math. Various types of ritualistic baths will be offered to the idol of Lord Mukhyaprana at Shiroor Math, oblations will be performed and the Prasadams thereof would be offered to the tomb of the Swamiji. At the same time, Paryaya Palimaru Sri Vidyadheeshateertha Swamiji will offer special puja. At 1 pm today, community feast was arranged at the base Math at Shiroor and also Rajangana of Sri Krishna Math.

Shiroor Math, which happens to be one of the eight maths associated with Sri Krishna Math, is located adjacent to Sri Krishna Math. Before he left for the heavenly abode, Shiroor Swamiji had made efforts to get back the idols of the presiding deities belonging to his math to be kept inside Sri Krishna Math. It is said that Palimaru Swamiji is offering special puja in honour of the late Swamiji to see that his soul rests in eternal peace and tranquility.
