Mangaluru: Sale of banned drugs - licence of medical shop cancelled

Mangaluru, Sep 4: The drugs control department, which found that a medical shop in the city had violated rules in a case of sale of banned intoxicating drugs without any prescriptions of authorized doctors, has cancelled its licence. A probe into the complaint on the issue had confirmed that the shop had violated law.

The police received reliable information that banned intoxicating medicines were being sold in P K Healthcure medical shop near PVS in the city on July 18 this year. On the basis of this information, under the leadership of assistant police commissioner of the central subdivision,   Urwa police station inspector and police inspector of the east station here, along with several other staff, had raided the said shop and confiscated banned drugs. Based on this incident, officials of drugs control department had registered  a case.

The department found that P K Healthcure medical shop had violated Drugs and Cosmetics Act - 1940 and rule 65 A. The department issued orders on August 31, cancelling the licence of the said medical shop.

    To be honest, does any medical shop in mangalore is serious about drugs selling even not licenced?I doubt.Any way this medical shop will be opened in some days again or anywhere else.let them check all others too.where were controllers all the time?They sell even medicines after the Expiry date,and medicines without any discription which one should read before taking as precaution.
