Mangaluru, Aug 31: St Agnes PU College in collaboration with the NCC unit of the college on August 30 celebrated National Integration Day.
Wing commander P C Pant, commanding officer, 6 Karnataka, Air squadron NCC, Mangaluru was the chief guest of the programme.
Addressing the gathering, he spoke on how we must stay united and protect our culture. He reminded the youth of their responsibilities and duties towards their nation. He urged everyone to serve their motherland selflessly and be ready to sacrifice anything that the nation demands. He encouraged the girls to take up defence force as a career and inspired the future citizens of India to make use of all the opportunities aveilable to lead our nation forward.
NCC cadets pledged their oath, which followed by NCC anthem. A skit depicting patriotic spirit was performed by the students. Group song interpreting the rich cultural diversity was presented. A patriotic dance with the theme ‘Colours of India’ mesmerised the audience.
Ashlyn Pinto welcomed the gathering. Vidhula compered the programme and Melreen Dsouza thanked the guests.
Principal Sr Shamita AC, vice-principal Sr Norine AC, NCC coordinator Tressie Menezes, the staff coordinators Suvasini P and Preema Correa were also present.
