Mangaluru, Aug 28: The Sadbhavana Diwas was celebrated at St Ann’s College of Education.
The day was celebrated to raise awareness among student teachers about communal harmony and to promote peace and co-operation among all religions. The programme commenced by invoking God’s blessing through a prayer service. The significance of the day was highlighted by Janhavi Sanal.
A dance highlighting the spirit of national integration was displayed by Bhargavi and group. A skit emphasising communal harmony was staged by Asma Andrade and group.
The staff and students took a pledge towards maintaining communal harmony.
Principal Dr Sr Clare AC, in her address to the staff and students emphasized the need for co-operation and unity among teachers as they are the builders of the future generation. "In the present world when corruption, inequality and disharmony is at its peak, we have to develop peace and harmony through self confidence and positive thinking."
The programme was coordinated by Laveena D’Sa. All the BEd, MEd and faculty were present.
