Moodbidri, Aug 24: Strong foundation, problem solving attitude and free expression is the hall mark of competent and capable engineer said, Dr P Nagbhushan, director, Indian Institute of Information Technology, Allahabad.
He was delivering guest lecturer in Rostrum forum, the speakers’ club of Alva’s Education Foundation on Thursday, August 23, at MBA seminar hall, Mijar.
He said, “Our heart should echo with what we do, but not something which is compelled upon us. The whole process of learning should be pleasurable and meaningful to learner. Then only the core objective of learning would be served.” Criticizing the process of preparing children, he said, “The process of preparing for something is foolishness, where as we should focus on making our students learn comprehensively and act instantly on the gained knowledge.”
Commenting on the present attitude of colleges behind the placing their students, he mentioned it has very unfortunate development, where learning is totally neglected. He said, “We should create an atmosphere where employer should come and ask for an employee rather than employee requesting for job with employer. However, the strong foundation, skill sets, creativity and confidence would accommodate candidate stand unique and make hirable anytime.”
He said, “Engineering is creating that foundation which invisible repository of knowledge which shall be accessible instantaneously to solve a situation, at right point of time in right way. Once you gain this expertness, you would be in demand always. However, Alva’s nurturing its students in same line and spirit.”
Presiding over the function Alva’s Education Foundation trustee Vivek Alva said that students should make use of the linkage between AIET and IIIT, Allahabad in their all spheres of learning.
Prior to the function, Alva’s Education Foundation chairman Dr M Mohan Alva and Dr P Nagbhushan, director, IIIT Allahabad, formally exchanged the MoU at the foundation office.
Dr Nagbhushan’s spouse Laxmi Bhushan and Rostrum Speakers’ Club coordinator Deepak raj were present among others.
