Udupi: Bala Sanyasa should be stopped, it is an offence: Esha Vittala Dasa Swamiji

Udupi, Aug 19: On the side lines of the Shiroor Swamiji condolence meeting on Saturday, August 18 at Mathura Chatra, Esha Vittala Dasa Swamiji of Kemaru Math speaking to media persons said, “Bala Sanyasa tradition must be stopped. All Math’s seers must fight against this. Ordaining a child as Bala Sanyasa is an offence. It is equal to child labour and child marriage. A law should be enacted to end this tradition. If we are find such practices anywhere, we are ready to fight against them legally. I have spoken to Kodachadri trust president and they have agreed to it.

“The aradhana of Sri Lakshmivara Theertha Swamiji is getting delayed. There are no rules that Aradhana (a religious ritual in Hindu religion performed 13 days after death) should be held in Shiroor Math itself. We people perform those rites in Kashi, Gaya, or Gokarna. It can be done at any other holy place.

“Sprinkling of holy water on tomb of Shiroor Swamiji is important on the 13th day. The concerned persons or Math should perform aradhana on the 13th day. Definitely, there is a conspiracy behind the postponing of aradhana performing date.

“At present, two priests are performing pooja and offering prayer to Sri Krishna every day at Shiroor Math. Two more priests are required to conduct homa, yaaga. If the aradhana date is being postponed, it is an insult to Shiroor Swamiji. On all the 13 days after death, religious ritual is important for a Hindu religious person. There is a belief that it will help to get moksha. All his followers are disappointed as aradhana of Shiroor Swamiji is being delayed,” he said.
