Mangaluru: ACT to hold adoption camp for puppies, kittens on Jul 29

Media Release

Mangaluru, Jul 28: "Adopting a cat has been the best decision as the cat has helped us a lot in calming our son. My cat Elsa and my son are inseparable and they share a very special relationship. While Elsa is very good and patient with kids, my son has learnt how to carefully handle her and be very gentle with her and this gentle nature of my son is also extended to his peers as well," said Lydia a pet parent, who had adopted a cat a year ago from Animal Care Trust (ACT), Shaktinagar during an adoption camp.

Over the years ACT has been receiving such positive feedbacks from pet parents, thus encouraging them in their endeavor to find permanent homes for the pups and kittens. In this direction ACT has been regularly holding adoption camps regularly to find loving, permanent homes for homeless Indian breed puppies and kittens.

One such camp will be organized at Vidyadayini Institute of Rural Development and Agricultural Training (VIARD) complex, near Govinda Dasa PU College on July 29 from 10.00 am to 5.00 pm. Over 20 puppies and 10 kittens will be put up for adoption during the camp.

While no adoption fee is charged, ACT only collects a nominal registration fee of Rs 200 that helps in covering the basic medical expenses incurred. Potential adopters are requested to bring a valid photo ID for registration.

After the adoption process is complete, ACT will keep in touch with the family for regular updates about vaccination and sterilization.

Free anti-rabies vaccination camp on July 29

On July 29, a free anti-rabies vaccination camp will be held at Little Paws Veterinary Clinic, opposite Kulshekar Post Office, behind Karnataka Bank, Kulshekar between 10.00 am to 1 pm. Pet parents can take their pets for vaccination.

About ACT

ACT came into existence on March 30, 2000 in order to provide care and shelter to stray, sick and abandoned animals. ACT has been promoting adoption of Desi breeds, as we often find that desi breeds are subjected to abuse and abandoned. These dogs forage for food on the streets, where they face threats to life from traffic and humans.
