Mangaluru: ICYM Cordel holds 'Cordel’s Got Talent'

Mangaluru, Jul 25: ICYM Cordel unit organized 'Cordel’s Got Talent' - singing, fancy dress and dance competitions for the parishioners.

Singing competition was held on July 15 while dance and fancy dress were held on July 22 at Frad Saib Hall, Kulshekar.

The competitions were in three main categories (5 to 10 years, 10 to 15 years and above 15 years) for singing, dance as well as fancy dress competition and the budding talents of Cordel parish took part with great enthusiasm.

Robin Sequeira and Meera Crasta were the judges for the singing competition. Dimple Pinto and Nishanth Torris were the judges for dance and fancy dress competition. Fr Victor Machado, director - ICYM Cordel Unit, Fr Santhosh Dsouza, assistant director - ICYM Cordel Unit, Fr Patrick Sequeira, assistant parish priest of Cordel Church, Loy Noronha, vice president and Saturnine Monteiro, secretary - Parish Pastoral Parishad, Leera Lobo, convenor of singing competition, Rahul Sequeira, convenor of fancy dress competition, Anisha Dsouza, convenor of dance competition were present.



The formal programme was compered by Avrel Fernandes and Ajay Pinto.

There is no shortage in India for any kind of talents - whether in singing, dancing or even public speaking. We have to keep our youth busy so that they remain dedicated towards their positive ways of life. There is a shared responsibility in India where the young and the old have to blend their abilities for the betterment of the society as a whole.

    Our youth of today will always remain grateful to those who pave the way for new plans of creativity for all those that can come forward and prove themselves. Sooner or later, India will be on the forefront of many talents in order to take part in global competitions. India has been blessed with millions of rich people who have to come forward and distribute their God given wealth for the benefit of the needy and also for the cause of the talented. India's rich cannot freeze their wealth for themselves because some of them of so much of wealth that will go waste after their demise from this world.

    The more we invest in today's youth will be good for all of us in one way or another. India has been blessed with intelligent and talented youth. They need our help and support, and sooner or later they will help the world to survive and progress.
