Puttur: Anti party activities - several Congress leaders receive notices

Puttur, Jul 25: The state Congress disciplinary committee has served notices on former block Congress president here, Kavu Hemanath Shetty, municipal president, Jayanthi Balnad, councillors, Muhammed Ali, Fazal Rahman and Mahesh Ankattimar, accusing them of indulging in anti party activities.

In a complaint made through the block Congress committee here, these leaders had been accused of working against the official candidate from local assembly constituency, Shakuntala Shetty, during the recently concluded assembly election.

Charges like joining hands with the opposite party and making efforts to defeat official candidate of the party, organizing of an unauthorized parallel meeting as opposed to an official meeting convened by the block Congress president etc have been levelled against the concerned.  It is said that the block Congress committee, in support of certain allegations, also has provided proof to the state committee of the party through Dakshina Kannada district Congress committee.
