Udupi, Jul 24: Recently, a miracle that took place in the Bhagawan Babbuswamy Daivasthana of Petebettu near Katapady here had made waves throughout the state among the devotees. Now a strange incident is taking place every day at Kinnigudde Babbuswamy Daivasthana under Kote Village which is also near to Katapady Petebettu.
A Naga snake is reportedly drinking the fresh 'Theertha' (holy water) that is kept in the earthen pot in the 'Madikenaga' Sannidhi at this Daivasthana every day. As a proof of this happening a Naga snake passed around the Sannidhi on Sunday, July 22, when a pooja was being held before digging the place to fix interlocks around the Daivasthana.
Devaraj Kote, who is the chief of this Daivasthana offers pooja every day to this Nagabana. According to him, this very Naga snake has been sighted at least three to four times in the past. There are two sets of earthen pots in this Nagabana and these are kept in front of the Nagashila idol that was established long ago. These earthen pots are cleaned every day and the theertha of local Lord Venkataramana and a leaf of sacred tulasi are put inside the pot. As the pooja gets over and people get dispersed, the Naga snake comes to this place and leaves after drinking the holy water in the pot.
"Our elders were saying that a Naga snake comes to this Daivasthana to drink water from many years. Now the sighting of Lord Naga in front of our eyes is really thrilling. Every day pooja is offered to Babbuswamy, Naga and other Daivas of the family in this Kinnigudde Babbuswamy Daivasthana, which has granted the wishes of its countless devotees. On the day of lunar eclipse, a special pooja will be offered,” said Devaraj Kote giving details of this strange phenomenon and the celestial powers of this place.
