Kundapur, Jul 22: “The cooperation of people is essential to solve the case of theft related to women's clothing in Vandse. The department should be informed immediately if anybody see suspicious people. Police will increase patrolling in this connection. People need not be afraid,” said Kollur station police inspector Shivakumar.
He was speaking in the consultation meeting regarding theft of clothes held in Vandse gram panchayat. “No case has been registered regarding theft of ladies clothing so far. But the department has become alert and suspicious people are being questioned. Inform police on beats if you find anybody suspicious,” he said.
Gram panchayat president Udaya Kumar said that the panchayat has also taken the initiative as the developments are sensitive. “Such incidents should not occur again. Police department should take extra care and keep an eye on suspicious people. People will cooperate with the police. The background of new tenants should be known before giving houses on rent in Vandse gram panchayat limits. Aadhaar card and photographs of the tenants should be obtained. The panchayats should be informed if the tenants are from other states,” he said.
“Quality CCTV should be installed in the heart of Vandse. There should be a hump at the place where Vandse market road and Nandroli roads meet.
