Bengaluru: Minister Shivakumar offers special puja at Sabarimala shrine

Bengaluru, Jul 22: Karnataka water resources minister, D K Shivakumar, visited Sabarimala on Saturday July 21 and offered special puja to presiding deity of the shrine, Lord Ayyappa.

Those close to the minister stated that the minister offered this puja to express gratitude at the fact that the state recorded good rainfall this time, and all the reservoirs in Karnataka are full.

The minister, along with chief minister, Kumaraswamy, had offered 'Bagina' tribute at Kabini and KRS reservoirs on Friday. The same evening, he travelled to Sabarimala along with Congress district campaign committee president, Srinath Babu, and about 20 friends from Ramanagara. On Saturday morning, he had bath in Pampa river at Sabarimala, wore the customary 'Mala' at Lord Ganapathi temple there, and paid obeisance to Lord Ayyappa Swamy. He returned to the city the same evening.
