Mysuru: Degree college opening time - minister contradicts department's decision

Mysuru, Jul 19: The Karnataka department of collegiate education's decision to change the opening time of colleges to 8 am has encountered stiff resistance from the minister for higher education, G T Deve Gowda.

The minister said that students from rural areas will face lot of problems because of the above decision. He said the above decision had not come to his notice, and added that he will not allow the changed timings to be enforced at any cost.

The minister, who expressed his opposition to the advancing of the college opening time, asserted that he will not allow any decisions which adversely affect the students. He said that several issues including the above will be discussed and solutions would be found at a secretary level meeting being held at Mysuru on July 23.
