Udupi: Sensational murder of NRI entrepreneur, Bhaskar Shetty - three witnesses examined

Udupi, Jul 19: Three witnesses connected with the ghastly murder of entrepreneur, Bhaskar Shetty from the city, were examined at the district and sessions court here amid tight security on Wednesday July 18.

Advocate Vinaya Achar, who wrote the will left behind by Bhaskar Shetty, Manjunathayya from Padubidri who identified accused Rajeshwari Shetty and Niranjan Bhat, and Bhaskar Shetty's friend, Shivananda, who had seen his friend for the last time at the former's home, were examined.

While special public prosecutor, Shantaram Shetty, conducted main examination of witnesses, their cross examinations were conducted by advocates for the accused, Narayan Pojary, Arun Bangera, and Vikram Hegde.

The other witnesses in the case would be examined on Thursday. Accused Rajeshwari Shetty, Navneet Shetty and Niranjan Bhat, who had been brought from Bengaluru prison and kept in Mangaluru prison, were presented in the court. They too were provided police security. After the court hours, they were taken back to Mangaluru.

Srinivas Bhat and Raghavendra, who have been accused of destroying evidence in the ase, were present in the court.
