Mangaluru: St Aloysius College students stage ‘Birugaali’

Mangaluru, Jul 13: The members of the Dramatics Association of St Aloysius College (Autonomous), Mangaluru enacted a play ‘Birugaali’ on Thursday, July 12 in the LCRI Hall. ‘Birugaali’ play was written by Kuvempu and directed by Jayashree Idkidu. This play was the transformed version of Shakespeare’s famous play ‘Tempest’.

Fr Alwyn Serrao, principal, Padua College of Commerce and Management, Nanthoor, Pradeepchandra Kuthpadi, theatre, TV and cinema artiste, Fr Dr Praveen Martis, principal, St Aloysius College (Autonomous), Mangaluru were present during the programme.



St Aloysius College (Autonomous) always encourages the students to take part in the extracurricular activities like theatre, art, singing, dance etc within and outside the college. St Aloysius College (Autonomous) has provided full-fledged infrastructure facilities in the college itself and the students can make the best use of it. Ample opportunities are made available for students to develop their God-given talents in different capacities. The members of Dramatics Association have been encouraged and trained by the experts.

During the past many years, the Dramatics Association of St Aloysius College has actively involved in the theatre work and has played quite a number of Dramas. In this gesture, many new artistes were born in this institution.

Above all, the Dramatics Association of St Aloysius College has been actively involved in the theatre activities of the past several years and has helped to enact many plays in and outside the college. Through this association, many theater personnel have emerged. The last year's drama 'Agnivarna' enacted by the students of the Dramatics Association has been awarded not only in the district but also won the first place in the state level and applauded by the audience.
