Bantwal, Jan 14: A public tribute was held on Tuesday to honor the memory of Mair Eshwar Bhat, popularly known as Bangaranna, a resident of Panjigadde in Kolnadu village near Vittla. He passed away on January 4 following a cardiac arrest. He was the father of senior High Court advocate Arun Shyam.
RSS leader Dr Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat, speaking at the event, highlighted Bangaranna's contributions to his village, including the construction of a 2-km-long road. He praised Bangaranna’s harmonious relationships with people of all faiths and his dedication to organic farming.
Other dignitaries who paid tribute included former MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, former MLA T Shakuntala Shetty, Horanadu Annapoorneshwari Temple trustee Bhemeshwar Joshi, former gram panchayat president Kolnadu Subhashchandra Shetty, and local leaders like Haseinar, Yusuf Talittanunji, and Devappa Gowda Talittanunji.
The event was also attended by businessman Madhava Mave, Muralikrishna Hasantadka, Raveesh Shetty Karkala, Gopalakrishna Herale, V M Kekanaje Ganapati Bhat, Satish Panjigadde, Sri Ramachandrapura Math administrator Santosh Hegde, CFO Ganesh JL, and others, including local leaders, advocates, and family members.
On behalf of the Sri Ramachandrapura Math Prerana Training Team, Brahmashree Mitturu Purohit Thimmayya Bhat offered condolences. Tributes were also extended on behalf of the Sri Akhila Havyaka Mahasabha and other organizations.
The event included devotional singing led by Kiran Kumar’s team, and the proceedings were anchored by Mahesh Kaje.
