Udupi: Suzlon Infrastructure Padubidri temporarily shuts operations

Udupi, Jul 13: The unit of Suzlon Infrastructure Ltd functioning near Padubidri in the taluk has temporarily suspended operations from July 1 this year.

The unit is engaged in manufacture of spare parts for wind mills. It is said that since the last some months, there has been a slump in the market for the products manufactured by the company. The suspension of operations would be for two months, sources stated.

While regular employees and workers of the company have been sent on leave by paying them salary for two months, contract workers are at the receiving end as they do not have any pay during the period the company does not operate.
