Yet another farmer commits suicide in Hassan district

Hassan, Jul 11: Even as the JD(S)-Congress coalition government’s Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy as well as JD(S) supremo HD Deve Gowda and other ministers in the government have been trying their best to convince the farming community that the farm loan waiver announced was in their best interests, yet another farmer has committed suicide at his farmland at Kallesomanahalli in Channarayapatna taluk of Hassan district on Tuesday, July 10.

The farmer Putte Gowda (52) committed suicide by consuming poison at his farmland.

According to reports, the farmer had grown tomato in his field and was upset as he did not good price for his product. He had borrowed loan of Rs 4 lac from different banks.

The farmer’s family members took him to a private hospital in Channarayapatna after they found him suffocating.

However, he died later. He is survived by his wife and two children.
