Bengaluru, Jul 5: The renowned Catholic Club in the city recently held its 67th annual general body meeting which was presided over by the outgoing president Alton Viegas in the presence of Msgr S Jayanathan, ecclesiastical advisor, archdiocese here.
Catholic Club organizes shows, entertainment programmes, festivities, events on national holidays, cultural events, literature fests, spiritual retreats, various sports and games competitions like swimming, billiards, snooker, badminton, squash, marathons and many more.
Catholic Club also manages the Catholic Club Orphans Trust which was an initiative by them in 1989 for the upliftment of the less fortunate. Its activities around the year are like organizing leadership training programme, medical camps, children’s Christmas party, soft skills training programme, equipment assistance like solar water heaters, water purifiers and organizing fund raising events.
The members elected to the managing committee for the year 2018-19 are:
President, Raphael Johnson; vice president, Lukose Abraham; Treasurer, Brian Dlima
Advisory members: Naveen Mendoza and Kenuite Martis
Committee members: Shashi Kiran Lewis, Tushar Fernandes, Jude Lobo, Gregory Pacheco, Suresh Monteiro, Praveen Jerome, Prakash Alvares, Robert Nelson Philip, B E Lawrence and Sunil Coutinho.
